I zawsze zapierały nam dech w piersiach. I zazdrościliśmy sobie nawzajem jego grafik i obrazów. A gdy Tomek nie słyszał dyskutowaliśmy – skąd mu się to bierze? Skąd taki talent u jednego z nas? Udał nam się, stwierdzaliśmy zgodnie. Byliśmy na jego ślubach (rozwodził się bez nas) i z wielką radością przyjęliśmy jego powrót do Pudla (tak nazywaliśmy Gosię), sakramentalnej w końcu żony. Czciliśmy kolejne rocznice jego śmierci. Przyszłej śmierci rzecz jasna. Przy nas wracając tramwajem z lekcji w Liceum Plastycznym wieszał się rękami i nogami na drążkach, których zwykle pasażerowie używali do trzymania i przy nas przygotowywał się do egzaminu już na Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Sztuk Plastycznych ze słownikiem wyrazów obcych. Bo doszedł do wniosku, że teorii żadnej i tak się nie nauczy, a słownictwem może zaskoczyć. Czy tak się stało, nie wiemy, bo doszedł tylko do „A”. Podziwialiśmy go w Teatrze Maya, szaleliśmy z nim na Helu, w Skokach, bywaliśmy na jego wernisażach, w jego pubach i na imprezach, które organizował. Jak zawsze zdumieni kolejnymi talentami. I pracowitością, a może raczej pędem do malowania. Najbardziej bujne życie towarzyskie nigdy nie przeszkadzało mu w tym, aby rano, albo jeszcze w nocy sięgać po pędzel. Nerwów też nas wiele kosztował, bo Akusz to niewątpliwie najbardziej wypadkowy artysta – bez względu na pojazd, czy to samochód, czy autobus (choć kochamy go bardzo, do samolotu nikt by z nim raczej nie wsiadł). Z okna też wypadł, ba nawet palec przy pracach remontowych sobie uciął (podobno nie trafił w ucho). Na szczęście medycyna czyni cuda, zawsze więc Tomek wracał nam do formy i rzecz jasna do malowania. Nie zmienił się przez te lata. Ocalił w sobie szalonego nastolatka, którego stale rozpiera energia. Zaskakuje nas kolejnymi pomysłami, kolejnymi wystawami w Galerii Perlegal. Każda wizyta w Skórzewie to prawdziwa uczta dla oczu (i nie tylko), bo zawsze zobaczymy coś nowego, co wyszło spod jego pędzla. Coś magicznego jest w tym malarstwie Tomka. Czujemy to nie tylko my, przyjaciele. Jego obrazy chce się po prostu mieć, najlepiej wszystkie. Chce się przebywać w ich towarzystwie, bo dają to, czego Akusz ma wiele – radość i energię. Z jednej strony cieszymy się z powodzenia kolegi, gdy sprzedaje kolejny obraz, z drugiej nam żal, że opuszcza bliskie nam przestrzenie. Uspokajamy się jednak, że przecież namaluje nam jeszcze wiele. W tej rozpoczynającej się drugiej sześćdziesiątce…

Tomasz Akusz

60s of Akusz..., meaning well over forty years with us. And what years that is! He has funded us great adventure with his art, and himself as well. It was us who were lucky to look at his paintings in previews, when far the colored spots were far from finished work, when we entered his workshops to talk and swallow whatever. Then we saw how they created prams, cocoons, fully erotic female characters (to the joy of some unnecesarily thin), couples hungry for sex, chicken, crucifixes. They were always breathtaking. We only could be jelous of his graphics and paintings. And when Tomek didn't hear we were discussing - where does that come from? From where such talent amongst one of us? We succeeded, we agreed.

We were at his weddings (divorced without us) and with pleasure took his return to Pudel (how we called Gosia), sacramental at last wife. We worshipped another his death anniversaries. Future death of course. Coming back with us in a trolley from classes in Art High School he hung himself by his hands and legs on sticks, that usually other passengers used to hold, and before us he was preparing for exam at the State Higher School of Fine Arts with a dictionary of foreign words. Because he came to a conclusion, that there is no theory he could learn, yet with his vocabulary he can surprise. Did that happen, we don't know, because he only made it to the letter „A”. We have always admired him at Maya Theatre, we were crazy with him in Hel, we participated at his openings, pubs and parties, that he organized. Amazed by his yet another talent as always. And his diligence, or rather rush to paint. The most lush social life never interrupted him to, at the morning, or during the night reach for his brush. It cost us a lot of nerves, because Akusz is without a doubt the most incidental artist - regardless on the vehicle, whether it was a car, or a bus (even though we love him very much, noone would have entered to a plane with him). He also dropped out of a window, yes he even cut his finger off during construction works (supposedly he missed the ear). Luckily medicine makes miracles, so always Tomek came back to his form and painting, of course. He hasn't changed throughout the years. He saved the crazy teenager in him, that always bursts with energy. He surprises us with new ideas, another exhibitions in Perlegal Galery. Each visit in Skórzewo is a true feast for eyes (and not only), because we always are able to see something new, that came from his brush. Something magical is in Tomek's painting. Not only us, friends feel that. You just want to have his pictures, preferably all. You want their company, because they give what Akusz has a lot - joy and energy. On the one hand we are happy from our colleagues success, on the other hand we feel regret, that he's leaving spaces close to us. However, we calm down, because he is going to paint us so much still.
